Maybe when Stephen Hawkings recodes the emulator Raiden Fighters will run even on a Commodore 64, but right now it needs power even if same-aged games run like a charm. RAIDEN Games was developed by some kind of one-hit-wonder Developer "Seibu Kaihatsu" and the coding for its emulation is not state of the art and so it needs much CPU-Power. The original intro sequence of Raiden II / Raiden DX is still being the awesomest part of the game in my opinion, because back in the early 90s the use of CGs or rendered 3D graphics was a groundbreaking feature in gaming, and were talking of 1993-1994, a time before Pulstar. Raiden II was ported to Windows by Kinesoft and Microsoft Corporation. It took a loooong time until i was runnable at all - and still now far away from perfect. Raiden II (II, Raiden Ts) is a 1993 vertical scrolling shooter arcade game that was developed by Seibu Kaihatsu. It was the second game in the Raiden series of vertical scrolling shooter arcade games that started with Raiden. ![]() When destroying buildings and enemies the player can collect power-ups to gain. If you dont have access to a Raiden DX PCB (or even if you do), Id recommend MAME, which emulates Raiden II and DX as of version 0.155. Have fun playing the amazing Raiden DX (UK) game for M.A.M.E. The player controls a jet fighter and blasts his way through various stages which are divided into levels. I also love "Buggy Boy" from the early 80s, Player the real machine in the Netherlands on vacation as a kid. The game features similar vertically scrolling shooter gameplay as in its predecessors Raiden and Raiden II. That means: it runs great, same situation as far as Capcoms Systems as CPS1, 2&3 are concerned.īut that does not mean that EVERY system is that well supported, even if it is much oder. ![]() Of course titles like dodonpachi (I LOVE THIS ONE!!!) run great, but it was developed by Raizing / Cave (former Toaplan-Guys) and the depending Arcade-System is well known and nearly perfectly handled by the Mame-DevTeam. And, since MAME is the only thing that can run Raiden II/DX right now outside of the PS1 ports, I doubt a company is going to hire hackers and MAME EMU devs to make their game run for them in a package for Steam/GOG/etc distribution. I agree that newer games may run better in some cases, but you cannot really compare games in MAME just by their date.
